The guys at PatchMyPC continue to deliver more features to their new tool Advanced Insight. The latest version that just got out, version 2.3.4, now offers a Configuration Manager console extension with many great features. The new version includes HP Warranty support and BitLocker Recovery key view when using the integrated MBAM with Configuration Manager.

- Update PatchMyPC Advanced Insight to version 2.3.4 or higher.

- Download Advanced Insight Configuration Manager console extension files here
- Extract the files from the ZIP file.
- Configuration Manager Full Administrator rights.

Installing Advanced Insight Configuration Manager console extension
- Browse to Administration / Update and Servicing / Console Extension, right-click, and select Import
- Select the extracted file AdvancedInsightsConsoleExtension.cab and complete the wizard.
- Right-click on the Advanced Insight console extension and select Approve Installation
- Once Approved, select Install to complete the configuration
Note that the console will automatically close to complete the installation
- Click Close when the installation is completed. Relaunch the Configuration manager console.
- Under Asset and Compliance, the newly installed extension is accessible!
- This installation will only be local by default. To publish it to remote consoles, select Enable Notifications
First-time configuration
- If the console extension is installed on the same server as Advanced Insight, and default port is used, it should be pre-configured correctly.
- In case of remote console installation, right-click on Advanced Insight, and select Configuration
- Add the link to the Advanced Insight web page with the port.
- Use the same credentials that are used for the web page access.
Common use of Advanced Insight console extension
- Main use can replace the web page access for one-stop access to the rich reporting capabilities.
- With the extension, it is possible to right-click on devices, collections or an Updates to open the details from Advanced Insight directly.
- Note that, at the moment, this click will open in a browser instead of inside the console extension
